Does Your Child Have ADHD?

Children with ADHD/ADD have difficulty making/keeping  healthy friendships. Have trouble acting appropriately in social situations(school, store, church, park, parties, meal time? Have difficulty initiating, maintaining, or ending conversations? Make impulsive or poor decision? Have trouble dealing with anger? Have trouble listening and following authoritative figure directives?

What Are Social Skills?

Social skills are a set of behaviors that allow a child to get along better with other people. A child with adequate social skills can adjust well to change in his/her environment and can avoid verbal and physical confrontation with other people. A child, who has poorly developed social skills, may have poor self-esteem, display behavior problems (fighting, arguing, defying adults) and may have difficulty developing peer relationships.

Our KIds

Must be diagnosed with ADHD/ADD or emotional disorder which is impulsivity, inattention, distractibility and hyperactivity.  Children will benefit  from  from a specialized  social skills program through on hands and peer relationships. Almost all children with this diagnosis struggle with the related challenges of functioning on a daily basis, dysgraphia (poor handwriting) and sensory processing disorder. Social and emotional  difference can be inflexible in a variety of situations, including transitions. Such difficulties often preclude these children from successfully participating in traditional after school & summer programs.
